Creating an eCandidat AMU account: technical pitfalls to avoid

The Faculty of Law and Political Science at AMU imposes a maximum of three wishes on eCandidat, across all sessions. Other components may apply different limits. This constraint requires prioritizing your choices in advance.
The required documents vary by program, but the common base for most components includes:
- An up-to-date curriculum vitae, even for an application to L2 (the Faculty of Law explicitly requests this)
- A motivation letter tailored to the targeted program, not a generic template

Starting from the 2026-2027 academic year, a new decree regulates differentiated registration fees for students outside the European Union. The share of exemptions granted by institutions is gradually decreasing (30% of affected students in 2026-2027, then 25% the following year, and 20% thereafter). Tracking your file and responses from the academic committee
After submission, your file goes through several statuses visible in the eCandidat interface: received, complete, awaiting opinion, and then the final decision. The time between submission and response depends on the component and the volume of applications received.
Three possible outcomes:
- Favorable opinion: you receive an admission offer and must confirm your choice within the indicated timeframe, or risk losing your place
- Favorable opinion with conditions: admission is contingent upon obtaining a diploma or validating a semester in progress
- Unfavorable opinion: the committee did not accept your file, and you may, depending on the component, file an appeal (the Faculty of Law provides a specific tab for this procedure)
Do not confuse admission on eCandidat with administrative registration. A favorable opinion gives you the right to register, but the final registration is completed on another portal (usually the online administration service of AMU) with payment of fees and submission of additional documents.
Applications for AMU programs via eCandidat follow fragmented schedules by component and level. Checking the exact dates for each targeted program remains the only precaution that avoids discovering, on the day of submission, that the slot is already closed.
